Denis Anderson

In loving memory of Denis Ray Anderson, my rock, my friend, my partner, my love.

Denis Ray Anderson, 85, was born November 4, 1940, in Fargo, ND, and passed away peacefully and with dignity on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at home with his loving wife Bobbi Anderson.

He was preceeded in death by his father, Walter R Anderson, his mother Elizabeth Anderson Vornold, his sister Dr Peggy Jean Anderson, his son Byron Anderson, and granddaughter Raegan Anderson.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bobbi Anderson; his grandson Aaron Anderson (Bailey); his granddaughter Emily O'Neal (John) and his cousin Jennie Estopare.

Denis graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Architecture and was an avid fan of Jayhawk basketball.

Denis was a member of Masonic Lodge United No. 5 ; Abou Ben Adhem Shrine; Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Joplin; Commander of Kadosh (2016); Missouri Rite Care, Knights of St. Andrew; Order of the Eastern Star; and Order of the Amaranth. He was also involved in Missouri Child Identification Program (MoCHIP).

A Celebration of Life will be held at Sequiota Park in Springfield on Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 11 am to 3 pm with Scottish Rite Rose Croix Service at 11:30 am and Masonic Service at 1:00 pm. Dress will be casual and feel free to share your funny stories and thoughts of Denis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Amaranth Diabetic Research Foundation.
