Lebanon, Missouri

John (Jack) Younger McLeish Leaver, born on May 30, 1935, in Perth, Scotland,
passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on September 17,2026
Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was defined by love, resilience, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family.
The cherished son of John and Janet Leaver, Jack carried forward the values of hard work, integrity, and kindness instilled in him from an early age. Throughout his life, he was a source of strength and wisdom to those around him, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maureen Leaver, with whom he shared nearly 70 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and cherished family traditions. Maureen's warmth, companionship, and joyful spirit brought immense happiness to Jack throughout their years together. Their love was the heart of their family and remained as strong in their later years as it was when they first met. Though deeply missed, it is comforting to imagine them reunited, side by side once more.
Jack proudly served in the Royal Air Force in Scotland before earning a degree in Professional Mechanical Engineering in England. He later immigrated to the United States, became a proud U.S. citizen, and built a distinguished career in engineering. Respected for his expertise, leadership, and dedication, he served as Vice President of Knapheide Manufacturing and later as Chief Executive Officer of Omaha Standard for 15 years.
Even in retirement, Jack remained active and engaged, helping his son build and grow Bread Bowl Bakery, a business that reflected his passion for hard work and family.

Jack is survived by his loving children, Jack Leaver and wife Pam, Andrew Leaver and wife Cindy, Fiona Leaver and husband Dave, and Mandy Leaver, who each carry forward the values and character he so proudly exemplified. He is also survived by his brother, Chic Leaver and wife Connie.
His legacy lives on through his beloved grandchildren, John Leaver and wife Skylar, Katie Al'Gburi, Kyle Leaver, Mackenzie Vincentini, Ryan Vincentini, and the late Nikki Neese and her husband Jason, Brooke Neese.
His cherished great-grandchildren, Melia Neese, Zoey Neese, Bella Neese, Gracie Neese, Teagan Leaver, and John Ledger Leaver, Fenn Al'Gburi, all of whom were a constant source of pride and joy in his life.
Jack was predeceased by his siblings Sandy Leaver, Cathie Delpippo, Jeanette Owst, and Liz Keddie, as well as his beloved granddaughter, Nikki Neese. He treasured the bonds he shared with his family and carried their memory close to his heart.
Outside of work, Jack enjoyed curling, golf, boating, singing, and spending time with family and friends. He was known for his gentle wisdom, quick wit, warm smile, and infectious laugh. Whether offering advice, lending a helping hand, or sharing stories over a glass of Johnnie Walker Black or Blue Label, Jack made people feel welcome, valued, and loved.
Above all, Jack treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. His love was steadfast, his support unwavering, and his presence a source of comfort and strength. The lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he shared will remain with his family forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Dementia Society. Acts of kindness performed in Jack's memory would be a fitting tribute to a man who lived a life centered on compassion, generosity, and love.
As we say goodbye to Jack, we celebrate a life well lived, a man deeply loved, and a legacy that will endure through the many lives he touched. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
Rest in peace, Jack.

A Scottish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sunshine warm upon your face,
And the rain fall softly upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
