Rosie Hamlett

–

Springfield, Missouri

It is with a profound sense of loss and love that we announce the passing of our beloved Rosie Mae Hamlett, affectionately known as Mom, Nana, or Mamaw. Born on February 3, 1951, in Durham, NC, Rosie lived a life characterized by her wit, generosity, faith in God, and an unwavering ability to support those around her. Her laughter was infectious and her love for family and friends knew no bounds. Throughout her 75 years, Rosie was a beacon of strength, resilience, and genuine warmth, whose impact will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rosie was a firecracker with a large personality who was known for the pink hair she wore proudly. Her career in the school district as a cook brought her immense joy, serving not just food but smiles to countless students and staff. She was celebrated as the best server/bartender at many establishments and was respected and loved by her colleagues and patrons alike. She was a loving caregiver to all of her grandchildren, weaving joy and laughter into their lives with her unique brand of humor and warmth.

A lover of bingo, Rosie also found immense joy in singing to her grandbabies, fishing, and dancing. She had an uncanny ability to make people laugh, lighting up any room she entered with her vibrant personality. Rosie was a pillar of support, always showing up for people and would give the shirt off her back to any stranger in need. Her life was a living testament to the motto that family is not an important thing, it's everything.

Rosie is survived by her daughter Rosetta Sampson, siblings Mary Moss and Jerry Hamlett, her grandchildren Kimberly Davis (Chris Hunt), Jacklyn Sampson (DeaJane Jaramillo), and Jeremy Smith. Her legacy will continue in the lives of her great-grandchildren Leigh Davis, Alexis Davis, Jordan Davis, Payton Cook, Jaxon Davis, and Jayce Hunt. She was preceded in death by her parents Hilda and Elihue Hamlett, siblings Sandy Saunders, Bimbo Hamlett, Cheryl Goff, son Tom Ransbottom, and grandson Nicholas Ransbottom.

We invite you to join us in celebrating the life of Rosie Hamlett on Friday September 25, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. Her celebration of life will be located at The Barnhouse (5484 W. Sunshine St. Brookline, Mo 65619). Please share your memories, photos, and stories on Rosie's memorial page.
