Sandra Kirkes

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Sandra Lee Kirkes, born October 6, 1948 in Americus, GA, who left us on July 28, 2026. Sandra, a kind, caring, thoughtful and compassionate soul, was well-known for her resilience and unwavering support she provided others. She was most recently a resident of Eagle Rock, Missouri, but grew up in Georgia and later married where she moved to Oklahoma. During her marriage they moved to Tennessee and Maryland but eventually returned to Oklahoma.

For many years, Sandra worked as an Insurance Agent, a role in which she was able to express her natural empathy and desire to help others. She took a lot of pride in her work and enjoyed insurance, spending more than 30 years in the industry. Her life revolved around her family but she loved to travel, spending time in Ireland, Jamacia and Mexico. In her later years and down time, she enjoyed quilting and reading. She also loved music and dancing. Sandra was kind and supportive to her family and friends, particularly cherishing the time spent with her children and close family members, who meant the world to her. She is survived by her children, Melanie Kirkes and Debby Ramsey; her brother Joe Sapp; her sister-in-law, Kaye Kirkes; her grand daughters, Kirsten Bullen, Katelyn and Kassandra Martin and great grand children, Aria and Elijah Bullen and Desmond Begay as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Sapp; her husband, Wesley Kirkes; her son, Nathan "Ty" Kirkes; and grandson, Roman Kirkes.
